What is your favorite paddling spot?
Lucky enough to live within walking distance to my favorite spot near Pleasure Point in Santa Cruz.
Why did you decide to participate in the Bay for Breath Crossing?
I have personally seen how The Living Breath Foundation makes an impact on those living with CF. Before Melissa passed away, she put in a lot of work to make certain that the Bay for Breath Crossing would continue without her. This one is for you Melissa. I love and miss you.
Do you have a personal connection to Cystic Fibrosis or The Living Breath Foundation?
I lost two dear friends to Cystic Fibrosis this year. I met Alyson Lowery when I was a new mountain biker. CF did not stop her from mountain biking. She was so friendly, never complained and made time for silly on the trails. She was a big part of the reason I got hooked on cycling for many years. I met Melissa Pappageorges out surfing with mutual friends. CF did not stop Melissa from surfing, being silly yet wise beyond her years, and eating huge burritos. These two dear friends lived epic lives, despite their illness. Losing them both has been difficult but I try to remember what a gift my health is and to make the most of it. They help me to remember to #gobecauseyoucan
