What is your favorite paddling spot?

The Jay Race Course – Capitola to the SC Wharf to the Mile Buoy and back.

Why did you decide to participate in the Bay for Breath Crossing?

I started as part of the original brainstorm to do the crossing for a charity with Rocky and Sabine. I had paddled the bay once before, and wanted to do it again. The chance to do the paddle and help a great cause… how could I say no?

Do you have a personal connection to Cystic Fibrosis or The Living Breath Foundation?

Yes. I was friends and surf buddies with Melissa Pappageorgas, who was a big inspiration for this event and really helped make it happen. Unfortunately Melissa died from CF at the end of 2018. I also lost another friend in 2019 from CF. I family members and other friends who have been touched by CF. I paddle for them all, but this year especially in the memory of Melissa.
